Championship

NBEA has provided funding for each discipline for Championship purposes. HTNB Executive decided that the $300 was to be allocated to the HTNB member, from each division, that had the best scores for attending both the NB Events. The funding was to allow the competitors to travel out of Province to allow them to compete for the Maritime Champion Award.

The winning recipients of the funds were:

  • Kerri Short on Fantasia in Preliminary
  • Zoe Erickson-Meesters on Gryphon in Pre Training
  • Elisha Hill on American Beauty in Starter
  • (no riders qualified in the Training Division)

Memberships

In 2004 we had an increase of approximately 25% to 46 members. We need to clarify as to when a member must move from Junior status to Senior status. The clarification will be noted on 2005 memberships and be placed on the website as well.

  • MOTION made by Jen Jammed to increase yearly membership fees for 2005 to Jr $25/Sr $30/Family $45. Seconded by Darryl Pike. Motion carried.
  • MOTION made by Marilyn Lacey to discontinue the temporary memberships in 2005. Seconded by Jen Jammed. Motion carried.
  • MOTION made by Gail Watts to charge late membership fees of $10 to be applied after March 31, 2005. Seconded by Jeff Carter. Motion carried.

Insurance

Insurance costs for HTNB members have increased to $784.04 for 2004. We only recovered $234 from events. We need to cover the cost of increasing insurance rates. If we increased membership rates by $5 and increased insurance fees at events to $5/competitor we would be able to break even.

  • MOTION made by Susan Pike to have the Executive review the need for increasing fees/dues on a cost recovery basis, until after the November 2004 National Eventing meeting when we can have a report from Zoe Erickson-Meesters. Seconded by Mike Gallagher. Motion carried.
  • MOTION made by Darryl Pike that the cost of armbands for new members will not be absorbed by HTNB anymore. Armband cost of $12 (subject to change) is to be paid by individual member. Seconded by Jen Jammed. Motion carried.

HTNB Most Promising Young Horse for 2001-2003

Winner of HTNB Most Promising young Horse for 2001-2003 was "Central Park", owned and ridden by Suzanne Stevenson. Presentation of award made by DL Cole to Janet Stevenson.

Event Dates

Dates for the 2005 Eventing circuit have been submitted to the National Body for the 2005 Omnibus.

Canadian Eventing National Meetings

Zoe Erickson-Meesters will be the NB representative at National Meetings in November 6/7 2004 in Toronto this year. We look forward to hearing a report from Zoe on her return.

National Funding

There is funding available from National for clinics within our region. One half of the money collected for the LDW goes to Elite Athlete development, while the other half gets funneled back to Domestic Development. There is also funding available for the Self Starter Clinics as well as the G5 clinics. DL Cole will look into applying for the funding through National.

2005 TD Clinic

Mike Gallagher will notify National of NB's wish to host a TD clinic in 2005. Mike has sent in request to National for this to be on Agenda for Nov meetings.
